My sister is taking her Hippocratic Oath on the 28th and I was thinking what better gift to give her. I cannot afford a stethoscope and she already has that anyway as she had residency as a student in the hospital for about three years. To be a doctor is a noble profession. You have to be in school for 9-10 year more than the regular student. You would have to be sleepless for two-digit multiples of 12, that is 24, 36, 48 and so on. You may be feeding on insult if a patient does not live or does not get cured when all you do is your job and not miracles. I pity my sister for taking such profession but the passion was stronger than the fear of taking on the job. To be able to hold a part of the survival of the person is one big responsibility. And so I pray to all the saints and angels to take care of her once she seals it with the oath. I would be very glad to see her in a Lab Coat. That is how she always imagined herself when we played as kids. She would wear mom’s Lab Coats too. And there we have it, I have a gift perfect for her. Doctors are recognized through this Uniform and she certainly will appreciate it. I ordered from Blue Sky where mom used to order hers. They delivered the next day and I had my sister’s name embroidered on the pocket. Cool isn’t it?
